Alternatives to Backup Manager for MailWizz EMA

Since MailWizz basically runs on a MySQL DB (as does Wordpress), would I be just as well served to use a robust backup plugin like iThemes BackupBuddy, instead of using the backup companion to MailWizz (i.e. "Backup Manager for MailWizz EMA")?

I already own a lifetime license to Backup Buddy, and I can select which databases to backup. Just saying. Thanks.
 
The backup manager for mailwizz also backs up the file system. If your plugin can do this as well, then you are totally fine.
