Cannot send the confirmation email/ ACTIVATE SMTP

Hello,
i'm tried to add a SMTP but i got this error
Connection could not be established with host :stream_socket_client(): unable to connect to starttls://.net:587 (Unable to find the socket transport "starttls" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP?)

can someone help me please ?
 
Use TLS not Starttls. Also, what's the deal with the hostname, why is it just .net? make sure you enter your server hostname.
