Doesn't install new version...

I am trying to install as instructed in README.MD file. I've uploaded all files & folders from "latest" folder on server and now when I am trying to run www.mydomain.com/install, it is downloading file "download" without any extension. And if I am trying to run www.mydomain.com/install/install.php, then it gives 404 Not found error "The requested URL /install/install.php was not found on this server."

There is no /install/install.php. Is this shared or VPS/dedicated server? If the latter, what distribution are you running? It appears you don't have a correct mime type set to run php files.

It's VPS, and sorry to say I am not technically sound, can u pls. help me??
