Email Advertising

I've been looking for a way, unsuccessfully so far, to rotate adverts within email campaigns and was wondering if anybody had any ideas?

I guess we'll need to have the images and links rotated on a server that when a campaign is created are randomly or rotationally selected. Currently it's just a concept so I'm trying to hack things together to make it work rather than custom developing.

Was that not what [RANDOM_CONTENT:a|b|c] / html content blocks are for?

I cannot get this to work, here's what I'm trying to do:

[RANDOM_CONTENT:<td align="center"><a href="https://warriorplus.com/o2/a/kmqx5/0"><img alt="Image" src="https://www.michaelwilding.com/wp-c...hot-2017-11-07-at-23.11.28-e1510096358924.png" style="width:565px; border-style:solid; display:block; border-width:0px; height:77px" /></a></td>|<td align="center"><a href="https://warriorplus.com/o2/a/cjmsk/0"><img alt="Image" src="https://www.michaelwilding.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/EAdWP-PopUnder-Pro.png" style="width:565px; border-style:solid; display:block; border-width:0px; height:77px" /></a></td>
|<td align="center"><a href="https://warriorplus.com/o2/a/y9vxm/0"><img alt="Image" src="https://www.michaelwilding.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/EAd-WP-NichePedia.png" style="width:565px; border-style:solid; display:block; border-width:0px; height:77px" /></a></td>|<td align="center"><a href="https://warriorplus.com/o2/a/lysf6/0"><img alt="Image" src="https://www.michaelwilding.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/EAD-WP-Limitless.png" style="width:565px; border-style:solid; display:block; border-width:0px; height:77px" /></a></td>|<td align="center"><a href="https://warriorplus.com/o2/a/g2sy8/0"><img alt="Image" src="https://www.michaelwilding.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/EAD-WP-Passivly.png" style="width:565px; border-style:solid; display:block; border-width:0px; height:77px" /></a></td>|<td align="center"><a href="https://warriorplus.com/o2/a/k790t/0"><img alt="Image" src="https://www.michaelwilding.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/EAD-WP_Passive-Profits-Breakthrough.png" style="width:565px; border-style:solid; display:block; border-width:0px; height:77px" /></a></td>]

I'm probably doing something really obviously wrong, but if someone could point it out that would be great :D

Hi Michael,

You are also doing it wrong :)

in the bottom of the template page (when setting up your template)
You have to click on the Random content and click the + for adding new blocks - remember to name the like 1 2 3 or something easy.
Once you have setup the the content blocks with the content, you will add this:
[RANDOM_CONTENT: BLOCK: 1 | BLOCK: 2 | BLOCK: 3]

Into the main html editor, then it will work :)

At the moment you can only add the random content to an email when you create a camapign. I'd like to add a load of them into the email template for advertising so that I don't have to add them every time we write an email. Please :)
I dunno, we have campaign custom tags for this, where you can basically shove any html and then use it in the template. Did you try that?

Is there now a way to create System or Client Templates with Random blocks of content?
Not quite, those block serve other purpose, this is the main reason, but see above response.
Also, you can easily duplicate campaigns and get started with existing blocks.

Hmm, I think what @twisted1919 meant is something like this?

Maybe create a camp, keep it a draft with the name 'all ads re XYZ', put all ads re XYZ into its random content tags, then save it as a template as well. But anytime you need it, just copy the camp and all will be there. It is a bit of a work around, but not many additional clicks ;)

These are all great suggestions. The issue I am faced with is that we run campaigns for multiple customers and are currently forced to recreate the random blocks in each account on setup. We are currently up to 37 random blocks and 40 clients. Maintaining the information is very challenging and time consuming across all clients.
The ability to create a system template that also incorporated random blocks which could be imported into client accounts would be the ideal scenario, however I understand that there may not be sufficient demand for this to be considered a feature.
