In this case, what do you mean with 'integrated'?

I setup mailwizz on the inside of our corp network. We did not open any incoming traffic to the mailwizz server. So outbound we use smtp authentication and send mail out using our exchange server. Anything else we need to do? what we will loose by not allowing any incoming traffic to mailwizz?

You probably only need to be able to serve the webpages for mwz/un/subscribes/etc and allow the smtp traffic for returns/bounces.
