What do I need to send via smtp?

Hi all, I wonder if someone could help me on this.
I send about 25 000 emails per day. I am using amazon ses at the moment but want to go for smtp.
But I am not at all sure what I will need for that.

Do I buy dedicated smtp server (like hosting) ? What should I look for, what are the specifications I need at the minimum?
How about different IPs?

Get a 3rd party smtp, it will save you lots of headaches, times, and money, unless you want to become a mail server admin & maintenance (a whole different business than email marketing).
