Which Linux for VPS?

Hi,
Is there any preference of Linux to run MW?

I am looking at a cheap VPS:
3x vCPU Core
40 GB SSD
2.5 GB RAM

I don't know anything about Linux so this is a learning experience for me

They are offering CentOS 7 or 8
Ubuntu 16 or 18

Any preference? I have Ubuntu 18 on another VPS but I recall when I first tried MW it was installed for my on CentOS 7 (2CPU 2GB) with OVH.

I did a search in the forum and looked in the KB, couldn't find a clear answer.

@tdwuk - it comes down to personal preference in the end. I'm a centos guy myself, so i'd say go for centos 7 for now.

@tdwuk yes as suggested by @twisted1919 go with CentOS (though its sort of personal choice just like using computers & mobiles ) and incase you need help let me know

Yep, a matter of preferences, personally I've been running this on Ubuntu 18.04 (no less because 16 is not supported anymore if I'm not mistaking) for a few years and works perfectly.

So, if you're already using Ubuntu and know it works great, then you can spare yourself the hassle of switching OS
